"The Hollywood Film Industry" Seminar

On March 24, 2007, American Corner Cluj-Napoca hosted the seminar "The Hollywood Film Industry: How Hollywood Movies Get Made – From Page to Screen to DVD", given by Andrew Reilly. Actor, director, writer and teacher of acting, and Fulbright lecturer, Mr. Andrew Reilly has worked extensively in theatre and film industry in the U.S. and France and has directed theatre plays in USA, France, Russia, and Hong Kong. Mr. Reilly holds a Master in Fine Arts degree in Theatre at South Carolina University and he is the author of the critically acclaimed book "An Actor's Business: How To Market Yourself as an Actor No Matter Where You Live", voted the best book of the year in 1996 by Stage Directions Magazine.

The 15 movie fans that attended this seminar were very enthusiastic and expressed interest in future such activities, enjoying even the idea of a possible movie fan club. The interesting presentation of Mr. Andrew Reilly about the Hollywood film industry concluded with the screening of "Chinatown" (1974, directed by Roman Polanski).

Seminarul "Industria hollywoodiana a filmului"

Sâmbata, 24 martie 2007, American Corner Cluj-Napoca a fost gazda seminarului cu tema: "Industria hollywoodiana a filmului: Cum se fac filmele la Hollywood – De la pagina scrisa la marele ecran si DVD", sustinut de domnul Andrew Reilly. Actor, regizor, scriitor si profesor de arta dramatica, profesor Fulbright, domnul Andrew Reilly a jucat în numeroase piese de teatru si filme în SUA si Franta si a regizat piese de teatru în SUA, Franta, Rusia si Hong Kong. Detine un Master of Fine Arts în teatru la University of South Carolina si este autorul cartii aclamate de critici "An Actor's Business: How To Market Yourself as an Actor No Matter Where You Live", votata drept cea mai buna carte a anului în 1996 de Stage Directions Magazine.

Cele 15 persoane prezente la eveniment si-au manifestat entuziasmul pentru continuarea unor astfel de întâlniri, conturându-se chiar ideea înfiintarii unui cerc de iubitori de film. Interesanta expunere a domnului Andrew Reilly referitoare la industria hollywoodiana a filmului a fost însotita de proiectia filmului "Chinatown" (1974), regizat de Roman Polanski.
