You Can Study in the U.S.A.

On December 5th 2007, American Corner Constanta and the Romania Fulbright Commission organized an information session on academic opportunities in the United States.

The presentation made by Kymber Jennings from the Fulbright Educational Advising Center (FEAC) in Bucharest, included a video of students who are studying in the US, information about the necessary documents and forms for admissions and financial aid. It also informed students of study materials available at American Corner Constanta and at Fulbright Educational Advising Center (FEAC).

The purpose of the event was to inform all persons interested in University programs in the US, and especially high school students of existing opportunities and resources available to them. Participants received other informative materials: “Undergraduate Study”, “Getting Ready to go: Practical information for Living and Studying in the United States,” “Short-Term Study, English Language Programs, Distance Education, and Accreditation.”

At the end of the presentation, the participants asked Kymber Jennings questions and several interviews were taken by Neptun local TV net.

The activity was attended by 60 participants in all: Professor Bararu Ion and high school students from Mircea cel Batran National High School, George Calinescu High School, undergraduates from Ovidius University - School of Journalism, School of Foreign Languages, as well as a reporter from a local newspaper, “Cuget Liber.”

Puteti studia in Statele Unite ale Americii

In data de 5 decembrie 2007, American Corner Constanta si Comisia Fulbright din Romania au sustinut o prezentare cu tema: “Oportunitati de studii universitare in Statele Unite”.

Prezentarea a fost sustinuta de Kymber Jennings de la Centrul Educational Fulbright Bucuresti si a inclus un film cu elevii admisi in S.U.A., informatii despre componentele dosarului de admitere si formele de ajutor financiar pe care le ofera institutiile de invatamant americane, cat si despre materialele de studiu disponibile la American Corner Constanta si la Centrul Educational al Comisiei Fulbright din Bucuresti.

Prezentarea s-a adresat tuturor persoanelor interesate de studii universitare in Statele Unite, in special elevilor de liceu. Participantii au putut afla ce programe de studiu ofera universitatile americane si ce resurse le pun la dispozitie studentilor.

Prezentarea s-a incheiat cu intrebari adresate d-rei Jennings si cu cateva interviuri acordate postului local de televiziune “Neptun”.

Participantii au primit ca materiale informative: “Undergraduate Study”, “Getting Ready to go: Practical information for Living and Studying in the United States”, “Short – Term Study, English Language Programs, Distance Education, and Accreditation”.

La eveniment au luat parte Prof. Bararu Ion si elevi de la Colegiul National Mircea cel Batran, Liceul Teoretic George Calinescu, Liceul International de Informatica, cat si studenti de la Universitatea Ovidius, Facultatea de Jurnalism si Facultatea de Litere, precum si un reprezentant de la ziarul local “Cuget Liber”, in total 60 de participanti.
