Valentine’s Day at American Corner Iasi

On February 14, 2007, more than 50 elementary students from four schools in Iasi (“Gh. I. Bratianu” School, “Ionel Teodoreanu” School, “Ion Neculce” School, and “Titu Maiorescu” School) celebrated Valentine’s Day at American Corner Iasi. The students took part in a drawing contest that included three sections: creating and decorating a personalized card; chromatic inventiveness proved by coloring a postcard with the symbols and the colors of the American flag, and subtlety in solving a maze. The best cards were selected and arranged in a small exhibit in the hall of “Gh. Asachi” County Library’s Art Galleries. The messages sent through them were different, but were all generated of love: “Love the Nature”, “For Mum, My Beloved”, “Love the Animals”, “Love for All the Children in the World”. In this atmosphere full of affection and enthusiasm some participation awards were given to all the children “for a job well done!”

The event was covered by the local newspaper “Metropolis”.

Ziua Indragostitilor la American Corner Iasi

In ziua de 14 februarie 2007, cu ocazia Zilei Indragostitilor si pentru a sarbatori dragostea, American Corner Iasi a organizat un concurs de desene.

Concurentii au fost 57 de elevi din clasele primare si gimnaziale, insotiti de invatatoare si de profesoara de engleza, de la patru scoli din Iasi: Scoala “Gh. I. Bratianu”, Scoala “Ionel Teodoreanu”, Scoala “Ion Neculce” si Scoala “Titu Maiorescu”.

Concursul s-a desfasurat in holul Galeriilor de Arta ale Bibliotecii Judetene “Gh. Asachi” Iasi, decorat pentru a crea o atmosfera care sa-i inspire pe micii “artisti plastici”. Concursul a inclus trei sectiuni: crearea si decorarea unei felicitari personalizate; inventivitate cromatica demonstrata prin colorarea unei carti postale pe care sa se regaseasca simbolurile si culorile drapelului American si agerime in rezolvarea unui labirint. Cele mai reusite felicitari au fost selectate si aranjate intr-o mica expozitie. Mesajele transmise prin intermediul lor au fost diferite, insa generate de iubire: “Iubiti natura”, “Pentru mama, cea mai iubita fiinta”, “Iubiti animalele”, “Iubire pentru toti copiii din lume”. In aceasta atmosfera plina de afectiune si entuziasm au fost inmanate diplome de participare tuturor copiilor “pentru un lucru bine facut!”

Evenimentul a beneficiat de prezenta ziarului local “Metropolis”.
