American Corner Timisoara
Events
A reception in honor of the International Education Week at the American Corner Timisoara drew professors, students, high school teachers and alumni of US Government programs, as well as the English Language Fellow based at the University of the West. In addition to presentations on opportunities for study at US universities and alumni initiatives of the US Embassy, attendees heard a presentation on U.S.-Romanian relations by a local USGovernment alumnus and professor and viewed a new exhibit prepared by American Corner staff on articles about American culture in the 20th century written by Romanian commentators and published along the past decade in various cultural publications in Timisoara and the Banat region. Local newspapers and a local TV station covered the event, which served to promote alumni activities with the Corner and in general.
