Stavropoleos Church Donation - Bucharest, August 16, 2003
Through a special program of the U.S. Department of State entitled the "Ambassador's
Fund for Cultural Preservation", the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest donates US $27,000 for
restoration of the Stavropoleos inner courtyard and abbey in Bucharest.

Signing of additional protocol on Narcotics Control and
Law Enforcement - Bucharest, August 5, 2003
U.S. Ambassador Michael Guest, and the Romanian Minister of Administration and Interior,
Ioan Rus, signed on Tuesday, August 5, an additional protocol to the Letter of Agreement
between their respective governments on Narcotics Control and Law Enforcement, that will
enable the United States to provide USD $975,000 of additional assistance for use by the
Government of Romania in this area.
