The Glass Menagerie – Beginning of the fall season at the National Theater
The fall season of the National Theatre has opened with one of the best-known and most performed plays by famous American playwright Tennessee Williams, The Glass Menagerie. The play opened Sunday, September 24, with support from the U.S. Embassy, which provided a grant to cover the performances rights.
Tennesse's characters - Tom Wingfield, Amanda, Laura, Jim O’Connor - come to life thanks to the talent of the gifted Romanian actors, including Valeria Seciu (who returns on the stage of the National Theater, where she made her initial debut), young actor Daniel Badale, Stefan Ruxanda, Brandusa Mircea and Ioan Andrei-Ionescu. The play is directed by renowned Romanian stage director Catalina Buzoianu.
The Glass Menagerie will be performed on Wednesday, September 27, and Thursday, September 28, in the Sala Atelier of the National Theatre. Tickets may
be purchased at the theatre.
